Euroleague started for the new season in October 2015. As per previous years they have a method for fans to watch the games on the internet. This can be done via a PC, laptop, or mobile device, in theory.
This season they changed provider for the service. The new service launched at the start of the season at a cost of £53.99 for the season. Euroleague were up front with the fact that it would not be available right away using the App but that it would be available soon.
We are now almost at the end of December, at the beginning of the final 16 stage, and there is no new information from Euroleague TV about when the App is going to be fully functional.
Meaning that for anyone who paid £53.99 in October so they could use the mobile app, they have had no Euroleague basketball in 3 months. Euroleague have been contacted by fans, both through email and twitter. They occasionally get responses, but the responses do not provide a date for a functioning app. They occasionally hint at a release date but the last hinted date (late November) has now passed.
They do have an App for the IPhone. It’s fair to say that the App is a little ‘glitchy’, if you decide to watch a game that is not live the App will show you the score. That’s not the most helpful of features.
I contacted Euroleague TV to get some answers but as yet I have not had a response.
It’s disappointing that such a big name in basketball are failing to provide the service they promised at the start of the season.
